  CONCH REPUBLIC received top honors and national recognition by receiving the Rising Star Award for Top Beach Band in 2011, according to GigMasters.com. This is the second year in a row the Trop Rock group has achieved this prestigious accomplishment in their category.

  GigMasters (http://www.gigmasters.com), the number one online event entertainment booking service, revealed its annual “Rising Star Award” winners for 2011 in late January of this year. Winners were chosen based on outstanding achievement in live music and event entertainment bookings. The top 23 bands were selected from GigMasters’ nationwide database of over 10,000 top-quality, client-rated entertainment acts and vendors, including categories such as Top Jazz Band, Top Country Band, Top Cover Band and CONCH REPUBLIC AS Top Beach Band.

It is so nice to know we are succeeding at this and making people happy!” stated Michael “Panama” Thomas, lead guitar player and founder of the band.

 CCONCHREPUBLICachieved this top ranking by providing a high-energy, colorful show that focuses on crowd participation.  Crazy  characters on stage perform beach and party tunes  from artists like the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Zac Brown, Harry Belafonte, and Toby Keith  while engaging the crowd in sing-alongs, conga lines, limbo and dance contests, topping it off with  colorful costumes, lights, stage props and party favors for those who like to join in the fun.

ONCH REPUBLIC is a “beach band who has made quite a name for itself across the Mid West and Southern states by entertaining crowds of up to 4000 at events such as private parties, casinos, wineries, corporate events, and various festivals. Some of their most memorable moments include playing a week at Margaritaville Café in Key West, performing on the beach-front stage in Key West for the annual “Meeting of the Minds” 2008 Parrot Head Convention, and opening for legendary bands including the Beach Boys and K.C. and the Sunshine Band.
